“We couldn't keep this looking like you”

Crease compares every result against your original and refuses to show one that drifted too far. It usually means the face was small, at a steep angle, or in low light. A straight-on, well-lit photo where your face fills a good part of the frame works best. A refused edit does not use a credit.

“Use a photo with just you in it”

Crease edits one person at a time. Crop the photo down to yourself and try again.

“Move closer”

The face is too small in the frame for a reliable edit. A head-and-shoulders portrait is the right shape.

The edit is taking a while

Most edits finish in well under a minute. If one hangs, close the screen and try again — an edit that never returned a result is not charged.

Free edits and credits

The first three edits are free. After that you buy credits or a subscription in the app. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google; Restore purchases in Settings brings them back after a reinstall or on a new device.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from — Apple or Google — not by us. If something went wrong on our side, write to us and we will sort it out.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete everything removes your record from our server immediately. See Privacy.

What Crease will not do

Crease does not remove clothing, does not produce sexual imagery, and refuses photos of more than one person. Edited photos are not records of real events and should not be presented as if they were.
